Everything is working. That's the part nobody questions.

The appointments happen. The medication gets given. The forms get filed. The people who depend on you are cared for.

From the outside, it looks like a life that runs well.

So nobody asks the only question that matters.

What is it running on?

The refill happens because you remembered it. The form gets turned in because you followed up. The conflict on the calendar got caught because you noticed it.

It works because you are holding it.

A system that depends entirely on one person's memory and attention is not a system.

Systems have redundancy. You don't.

Systems have documentation. You have your head.

Systems keep running when one part goes down. Your life doesn't.

If it only works because you remember it, it doesn't work.

That doesn't mean every responsibility disappears. It means every responsibility shouldn't require you to be the mechanism that keeps it moving.

That's the difference between carrying responsibility and becoming the system.

You're not removing the work. You're removing yourself as the system.
